The photos below are slightly out of
focus. The light from the windows “blew” my whites. The rule of
thirds isn’t maintained, and there is part of a random person on right side of
one of the photos.
The photos, however, capture a great
moment. My daughter kept playing with the buttons on Grandy's oxygen
machine. My grandfather gently held her little hand. He
made goofy faces at her, and she at him.
Too often we are intimidated by how we are
shooting or our camera. I sometimes see people try to hide the fact that
they are taking photos with their camera phones when I pull up with my big,
professional camera.
Don't worry! Use what you have at your fingertips.
Then, get the image off your camera and into a photobook, printed, on Facebook,
or blow that baby up on canvas!
My photos are often far from perfect,
but it doesn't matter the camera brand, focal length, or number of mega
pixels. This moment will never happen again, and I'm happy to have
pictures of that moment, even with all their imperfections.
Take out your camera, even if it’s just your phone,
and then do something with it.
Love you, Grandy.
