Happy Monday,
Lovelies!
First, let me
say, I’m not much of a formal portrait photographer… especially when it comes
to “work” portraits. You know those
portraits of lawyers sitting in front of barristers lined with US Code?
Look, I’ve
taken those contracts to pay the bills, but I’ll rarely blog about them. Why?
Because when you want to hire “me” as Jalapeño Photography, my passion
is no longer on K Street. I love the
women-owned businesses, the mom and pops, the
I’ll-cash-out-my-401k-on-a-chance-to-have-my-own-dream dreamers.
Marian with
Miss Mustard Seed is that kind of lady.
She started off as any of us start off in the small business world, but
she perused it with an uncommon passion.
Many people love to buy, paint and sell furniture, but Marian took on a
challenge of not only turning out painted pieces… but instead, strived to sell
pieces she loved.
For several
years she was a vendor at Lucketts, the biggest store for this kind of
thing. She moved her way up from a small
room to the front entry. She saw an
opportunity to own her own paint line… and she did it! With a preponderance of unknowns like…
How to distribute? How to package? How to produce? Colors?
How much product to purchase?
BAM. She said, “I’ll take it on!”
That’s my kind
of lady.
Here are some
more from out shoot!
