My Little One | Virginia Wedding and Family Photographer

Hello, Lovelies!

This weekend was not only a big week for me (I got married), it was a HUGE week for my little one.  She was an integral part of the wedding ceremony, and Tuesday was her first day in pre-school!

So, just a quick story, about N at the wedding.

Getting married as a single mom is a different experience than as a single woman.  We are not two people over the moon for one another about to run off to Cancun.  We are over-the-moon parents about run into the other room once the girls turn out their lights—dreaming of family vacation once our exes stop the courthouse relays.

Our wedding was at 3pm, so our 3 year old was just getting up from her nap.  Tired and grumpy, she refused to hold her sister’s hand.  So, I walked down the aisle with my father and daughter.

She sat with Mi Amor and me during the service, refusing to sit with the grandparents.  After the first reading, she picked her nose and tried to eat it.  Then, she gave it to me instead.  Great.  Without a kids’ church kit, it went on my wedding dress.

Then, as the priest blessed our rings just before our exchange of vows, she went in to clean out both nostrils.  Up she pointed at me with extended index fingers—I have boogers, Mama.  Take ‘um, Mama!!  Take ‘um, MAMA!!

Well, that’s a first.  My wedding dress was triple boogered as I exchanged vows.

All that I could do was giggle through my vows.

Mi Amor, I take you in sickness and health.  I take you for all you are.  I love because you take me for everything I am.  A hot, sexy mama with boogers on my wedding dress.

It was honestly one of the best days of my life.

Here are a few pictures of my little booger on her first day at pre-school.  The pre-school is doing a zoo theme this year, and my N is a sloth.

At your paternal Grandmother's wedding, Beaulah's flower girl was the daughter of her Matron of Honor.
Just before the Lord's Prayer, the little girl gives her mom (matron of honor) her basket saying:
"hold my basket mama, I gotta go pee pee!"
True story, have it on the original wire recording and on the cassette tape we made from the wire for their 25th anniversary.

Hope you have Miss N's performance recorded for posterity?
